Guy Crescent Prize Association
The APGC
Since it was created in 1999, Geodis has supported the Guy Crescent Prize Association in homage to its founder (Chairman of Calberson from 1963 à 1985, a polio sufferer), who having overcome a grave handicap, became involved with talent and energy in numerous humanitarian, charitable and professional initiatives.
Each year, the Association awards €7,700 to a man or woman to reward them for their victory over adversity and their ability to help others.
2007-2008 Prospects
The Guy Crescent Prize Association, wishing to perpetuate its action in favour of handicapped persons, has undertaken discussions on its future with Geodis. By becoming part of the Geodis Foundation, a highly structured organisation with access to considerable resources, the Association can be certain that the spirit of Guy Crescent will be preserved, in particular through the Guy Crescent grants paid to initiators of projects supported by the Foundation.
The launch of the Foundation on 5 June 2007 took place in combination with the Guy Crescent prize which, this year, exceptionally, awarded two prizes covering 2006 and 2007. Geodis and the APGC have thereby united their efforts and intend to continue to promote the values that Guy Crescent strove for throughout his life: overcoming personal limitations and working for others.
